About Us
The North Carolina Metro Punjabi Arts Academy is a community aimed at spreading the rich folk heritage of Punjab around the Charlotte Metropolitan area. Our structured Bhangra classes will get you in tune and in shape, while learning all of the folk fundamentals of Bhangra. Our community events and performances help bring people of all cultures together for a positive impact on the Charlotte Metropolitan area.
Class Info
We welcome students of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels!
All students start by learning the fundamentals of Bhangra from the ground, from footwork - to proper posture and form - to upper body. After mastering fundamental footwork, students learn various traditional Bhangra actions and learn choreography. Intermediate students learn extended choreography and wide range of complex Bhangra actions. Advanced students learn how to use khunde, shikke, kaato, and performance skills with opportunity to compete and showcase exhibition performances.
Junior Classes
Students 6 to 12 years old.
Senior Classes
Students 13 years old and up.
Bhangra Fitness
Fitness class for adults coming in 2020.
